Pre-k through second grades focus on basic technology skills. They learn to manipulate input devices such as the mouse and keyboard. Educational software is also included to assist the students to further develop their reading and math skills.
The use of technology becomes more demanding in the third through fifth grades. They are introduced to printer usage and touch typing with advanced typing techniques in fourth and fifth grades. Educational software is incorporated to enhance academic growth. Furthermore, technology is used in collaboration with writing, communication and publishing activities.
As the students progress with their technology skills, usage of hardware and software becomes more detailed in sixth through eight grades. Programs such as word processing and complex educational software assist in academic growth. Application of technological resources are applied to many curriculum subject areas to accomplish tasks and solve problems. The students use technology as a research tool to enhance educational growth.
