Physical education is based upon the acquisition of knowledge and skills as a foundation for engaging in physical activity. The mission of physical education is to enable all students to sustain regular lifelong physical activity as a foundation for a healthy, productive , and active life. Physical education is a sequential educational program based on physical activities undertaken in an active, caring, supportive, and competitive environment in which each student is encouraged to put forth their best effort.
Students will acquire the knowledge and skill necessary to perform basic motor and manipulative skills and attain competency in a variety of physical activities and proficiency in a few select complex and motor activities. students will learn the benefits of engaging in regular physical activities. Learn to demonstrate responsible personal and social behavior while engaging in physical activity. Students will also develop both basic fundamental and motor coordination skills.
Students in Pre Kindergarten and Kindergarten learn and practice basic motor and eye hand coordination skills. They also engage in aerobic activities. Students in first grade continue to develop their basic motor and coordination skills. They also begin an introduction to the sport of soccer and related fundamental skills.
Students in grades two and three continue to practice basic fundamental skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, running, agility, and eye hand coordination skills. In grades four and five students begin to use their acquired skills in sports such as basketball, soccer, track and field, physical fitness and volleyball.
Grades six, seven and eight students work cooperatively and productively in a group to accomplish a set goal in both cooperative and competitive atmosphere. Students use their acquired skills in activities such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, track and field and physical fitness. At this level students also develop leadership and cooperative traits.
At all levels throughout the program students are always taught to display good sportsmanship. Each student is encouraged to put forth their best effort in class. Students are taught basic fundamental and motor skills. Students are always taught to demonstrate responsible and social behavior during all activities.

- improved self esteem and confidence
- develops motor and coordination skills
