The Home and School Association of Resurrection Ascension School is a school organization established to foster closer communication and cooperation between parents and the school. It also aims to promote and assist the school in fundraising critical to controlling tuition costs. Membership in the organization is required to all parents or guardians of students in the school. Nominal dues are paid annually.
Parents are asked to support the various projects and events sponsored by the Home and School Association throughout the year, not only for the funds raised, but also for the important lessons of teamwork and cooperation that are modeled for our student body.

The Home School Association has many opportunities to fulfill this obligation. Listed below are the activities scheduled for this school year.**
Listed below are the scheduled fundraisers for the school year and a brief description of what each one is about. We are looking for parents to help co-chair these events throughout the year. Please consider giving your time and talent to coordinate one of these events! If you are not interested in co-chairing an event, please think about volunteering your time to help out. We'd like to get as many parents involved as possible - many hand make lighter work!
Yearly Fundraisers & Descriptions
Gift Wrap Sale Wrapping paper, holiday gifts and candy are sold through a catalog. There are 4 collection days for families to turn in orders and money. Responsibilities include distribution of gift-wrap to each class around Thanksgiving, scheduling volunteers for each collection day and totaling orders and money.
Christmas Boutique - Holiday sale for students to purchase small gifts for their families. Duties include sending notices home to parents, shopping for gift items. bag & tags, setting up the "store", scheduling volunteer workers and coordinating shopping schedule with teachers.
Breakfast with Santa - Chairperson/people responsible for decoration gym, soliciting breakfast donations from local vendors, making up holiday goodie bags, purchasing Polaroid film for pictures with Santa, ticket distribution to students and purchasing raffle items.
Candy Drive - Duties include placing order for candy, distribution of 1 box to each school family, keeping track of payments, giving additional boxes of candy to those families requesting them. There are 4 collection days during this drive.
Scholastic Book Fair - Responsibilities include coordinating with Scholastic representative for delivery and pick up of books, arrange with teachers class schedules to visit book fair, set up of room with books, posters, folders & pens and software. Scheduling of volunteers and keeping track of money collected also involved.
Chance Book Drive - Responsible for sending chance books and letters to all school families and parishoners (stuffing envelopes, bringing to Post Office, etc.). Scheduling volunteers to help tally money on collection dates, keeping track of all money collected and listing all chance book winners for Mrs. Heppt and bulletin.
Breakfast with the Easter Bunny - Chairperson/people responsible for decoration the gym, soliciting breakfast donations from local vendors, making up holiday goodie bags, purchasing Polaroid film for pictures with Santa, ticket distribution to students and purchasing raffle items.
Supermarket Blitz - Responsibilities include soliciting donations from local vendors, gathering raffle gifts/baskets, selling tickets for event, putting together raffle gifts/baskets, setting up the gym, working at the event selling raffle tickets, working the kitchen, clean-up after the event, etc.
Mother's Day Plant Sale - Involves purchasing plants and flowers to sell for Mother's Day. Sending note home to parents, arranging delivery from nursery and counting money.
Field Day - Annual sports competition held at Juniper Valley Park coordinated with Mr. Baron. Responsibilities include scheduling parent
Pizza Lunch- October through May- Arranging pizza lunch for all students 2 or 3 Fridays per month. Need to send notices to parents, collect money, order pizza and purchase soda, chips, plates and supplies. Also need to tally by class number of pies, and help distribute pizzas to lunch parents for their class.
If you've been kind enough to chair an event before and are interested in doing so again, you'll be given first preference. We're hoping for 2 to 3 chair people per fundraiser. Please notify us as soon as possible if interested. Send your name, child's name & grade, evening phone number, and list which fundraiser you would like to co-chair or volunteer for on a piece of paper to the attention of the Home School Association through your child's teacher. All event chairs and co-chairs will be given information packs containing sample letters, contact phone numbers and important dates pertaining to their events. The Home School Board will meet and discuss each fundraiser in further detail and answer any questions with co-chairs prior to the event. Thank you for your cooperation.
